slayerofthevampyrs:

apparently i was supposed to publish this so we could discuss. ;)
SO I AM INCREDIBLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS POSSIBILITY BECAUSE BETRAYALS ARE ALWAYS AWESOME - especially when it’s a betrayal that’s not really a betrayal since it was never really clear what side of the good fight they’re on. We have to remember that the only reason that Koh is working with Buffy and helping her out is because of a code of honor type thing - not because he has any real allegiance to her or the fight she’s fighting, and I have a feeling that as they work together more but the reader and Buffy herself are going to get a little too comfortable with him as a member of the Scoobies and forget that he’s an extremely powerful demon how has thousands of years of rage built up with only a thin code of honor keeping him in line at this point. What happens when he feels like his debt to Buffy has been paid?
This will be even more awesome if our previous speculation of Illyria being the one who imprisoned him turns out to be true. Buffy is likely to not have a clue who she is and when that conflict arises, she’ll be definitely taking Koh’s side…and if Koh’s side is the wrong side, this is going to make for a disastrous battle.
I had more flaily commentary on this a few mins ago but OMG SO EXCITED.

Be warned, there be no logic ahead.
I am going to be so disappointed if Koh is the betrayer. Not just because KOHFFY I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP but because we just had the same thing happen with Severin. “Oh hey you fight vamps me too let’s work together I’m gonna crash on your couch let’s go patrolling oops you actually want to kill me” arc = done. *grumbles* Plus Spike vetted Koh and they’d had a “bromance” according to Buffy. I know that would make the betrayal more shocking, but it still feels incomplete to me. I want Koh to stick around for a looooooong while, and then he can “betray” her. Because he probably is not too keen on the magic coming back, and it seems that’s the direction this season is heading towards eh. I want there to be a pivotal battle towards the climax of the season and for Koh to just back out. Spike will be back by then, so I won’t be needing to ship Kohffy no more.  And if Illyria is there, all the better! Just not in this arc please!!!
